Antiquarian and rare bookshop in Paris

Located in Paris (6th district), Camille Sourget Bookshop is an Antique and Rare Bookshop. We are specialized in buying and selling rare and precious books from the fifteenth to the beginning of the twentieth century.

Our history

Immersed in a world of antiquarian books from an early age, Camille Sourget decides very early to become a bookseller. After enriching her studies in art history and a year spent in London, she started working in her parents’ prestigious bookshop in 2001.

Eager to broaden her horizons to the different aspects of the profession, she then spent a year and a half deepening her knowledge of books with the greatest international dealers, in Paris and in New York.

Back in France in 2005, she finally created her own structure in Paris, eager to put her various experiences to good use. She first opened a “bookshop-apartment” at 1 rue du dragon, then inaugurated in 2008 a shop with a street corner at 93 rue de Seine, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It is at this address that she welcomes you with enthusiasm and professionalism since then.

Its specialties are literary first editions, natural sciences, travel books and atlases, history, and all the beautiful illustrated books from the 15th to the beginning of the 20th century. The Camille Sourget bookshop participates in various international fairs, including the prestigious TEFAF in Maastricht, Fine Arts Paris / La Biennale, the New York Antiquarian Book Fair, the Salon du Livre Ancien in Paris at the Grand Palais, etc.

Our team

Camille Sourget

There are only two ways to live: either you dream it or you do it.

Immersed in the world of old books from a very young age, and passionate about art history, Camille Sourget decided very early on to become a bookseller.

After several years spent abroad discovering the profession, in the UK and in New York, she created her own structure in Paris in 2005, initially in the form of a bookshop at 1 rue du dragon. In 2008, she opened her current bookshop at 93 rue de Seine.
Passionate about literature and beautiful books, travel and human contacts, Camille decided to increase her international visibility, hence the large number of prestigious fairs and exhibitions in which her structure has participated for the past twenty years.

Today, the bookshop on the rue de Seine is full of treasures dating from the 14th to the 20th century (more than 1,000 works are on our shelves). Some of these works are visible on our fully bilingual website and on our Instagram account. But it is mainly the paper catalogs published regularly by the bookstore that present these works in the most eloquent way.

Camille works surrounded by a team of dynamic and enthusiastic young women who will also be delighted to guide you in your bibliophilic quest or to accompany you in your beginnings as a collector.

Justine Sennepin

Smile at life and life will smile at you.

Justine Sennepin joined the team of the Librairie Camille Sourget in September 2021.

At a very young age, she was immersed in the world of theater thanks to several generations of amateur actors who succeeded one another in her family. Art in all its forms, modern, ancient or even contemporary, attracts and captivates her.

Arrived in Paris in 2014, Justine has the ambition to fully satisfy her two passions and thus follows two courses in parallel: the Cours Florent to satisfy her love of the stage, and Art History, which she studies at the Sorbonne. After a few years, she decided to devote herself exclusively to her university studies in order to enter the world of the art market, which fascinated her. In 2019, she joins a contemporary art gallery in Paris, where she specializes in the organization of exhibitions, before joining Camille Sourget.

A favorite theme among the books offered at the bookstore? As a reflection of her double career, there is first of all literature, and the works of theater in particular, but also illustrated books, which bring her back to her love of painting.

Playful and dynamic, Justine will be happy to welcome you to the bookstore, in French and in English, and to identify your expectations in order to help you discover the multitude of treasures that abound on the shelves.

Nolwenn Rombeaut

“Il y a le possible, cette fenêtre du rêve ouverte sur le réel.”
Victor Hugo

Nolwenn Rombeaut joined the Librairie Camille Sourget team in September 2023.

Passionate about history, art and literature of 15th and 16th century in Europe, she is also researching Renaissance printing, and more specifically, the figure of the madman.

After completing a double degree in History-History of Art and Archaeology at the Sorbonne, Nolwenn plunged into the world of antiquarianism, which had always fascinated her. Her curiosity was first piqued by the childlike, opaque sight of a few leather-bound books sitting in a family library. On her arrival in Paris in 2017, she scoured both libraries and bookshops, quickly placing antiquarian books at the heart of her interests.

After two years’ experience as a cataloguer in a Parisian bookshop, punctuated by a number of internships with leading Parisian institutions, Nolwenn is now delighted to welcome you with passion and professionalism at the Librairie Camille Sourget, where she will be delighted to discuss her favourite themes with you.

Her specialty? Books from the 15th and 18th centuries, in particular curial literature, illustrated books and “narrenliteratur”.
