Rare and antique books bookstore in Paris
Located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, the Camille Sourget Bookstore specializes in the purchase and sale of precious and rare works ranging from the 15th century to the early 20th century.
Our history
Immersed in a universe of ancient books from a young age, Camille Sourget decided very early on to pursue a career as a bookseller. After enriching studies in art history and a year spent in London, she began working in her parents’ prestigious bookstore in 2001.
Keen to broaden her horizon to different aspects of the profession, she then spent a year and a half deepening her book knowledge alongside the greatest international merchants, in Paris, then New York.
Back in France in 2005, she finally created her own establishment in Paris eager to put her diverse experiences to good use. Initially, she opened a “bookstore-apartment” at 1 rue du dragon, then in 2008 inaugurated a street-facing shop at 93 rue de Seine, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It is at this address that she has enthusiastically and professionally welcomed you ever since.
Her specialties are original literary editions, natural sciences, travel and atlas books, history, and beautifully illustrated books from the 15th to the early 20th century. Librairie Camille Sourget participates in various international fairs, among others at the prestigious TEFAF in Maastricht, Fine Arts Paris / La Biennale, the New York Antiquarian Book Fair, the Antiquarian Book Fair in Paris at the Grand Palais, etc.

The bookstore's objectives
Be very present and active on the international stage
Maintain constant contact with booksellers around the world, participate in major international fairs to regularly meet her clients, be extremely mobile and available.
Generate interest and evoke passions
by publishing 4 “paper catalogs” each year as well as by sending a monthly electronic Newsletter to her subscribers presenting her latest acquisitions and current activities.
Develop a privileged relationship,
a relationship of trust with her clients by helping them form a collection that reflects their tastes and personalities, advising them throughout their quest for rare books. Sharing her passion for beautiful books with as many people as possible is undoubtedly her primary goal.

The team
Camille Sourget
There are only two ways to live your life: you can dream it or you can achieve it.
Immersed in the world of ancient books from a young age, passionate about art history, Camille Sourget decided very early on to pursue a career as a bookseller.
After several years abroad discovering the profession, in Great Britain and then New York, she created her own establishment in Paris in 2005, initially in the form of a “bookstore-apartment” at 1 rue du dragon. In 2008, she opened her current bookstore at 93 rue de Seine. Passionate about literature and beautiful books, travel, and human connections, Camille decided to increase her international visibility, hence the many prestigious fairs and exhibitions her establishment has participated in for over twenty years.
Today, the bookstore on rue de Seine is overflowing with treasures dating from the 14th to the 20th centuries (more than 1,000 works share space on our shelves). Some of these works can be viewed on our website, translated into six languages, and on our Instagram account. However, it is mainly the regular printed catalogs published by the bookstore that present these works in the most eloquent manner.
Camille works surrounded by a dynamic and enthusiastic team who will be delighted to guide you in your bibliophile quest or accompany you in your beginnings as a collector.

Fantine Bellanger
Luxury, calm, and pleasure.
Fascinated since childhood by the subtle scents of yesteryear, Fantine has always been sensitive to the imprints of the past and objects that carry memories. This natural inclination towards the old first led her to explore archaeology through the study of the Paleolithic period, before fully dedicating herself to preventive archaeology.
With a master’s degree in archaeology from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, she worked for eight years as an archaeologist on sites in France and Australia, where she lived for five years. She alternated between urban and rural contexts, participating in the study of sites covering a wide chronological spectrum, from Prehistory to the modern era.
In June 2025, Fantine joined the team at Librairie Camille Sourget, trading in picks and trowels to pursue her passion for ancient traces within the world of rare books.
Sensitive to the beauty of objects that have endured through the centuries, she is particularly keen on ancient manuscripts, illustrated tales of great journeys and explorations, and great classics of French poetry.
Intuitive and delicate, Fantine will be delighted to welcome you in French, English, and Spanish, guiding you in your exploration of our rare book catalog.

William Baird-Smith
Longest way round is the shortest way home.
William Baird-Smith joined the Librairie Camille Sourget team in June 2025.
Franco-American, he grew up in a bilingual environment and developed a passion for literature, both French and English, from an early age. From Tristram Shandy to Bel-Ami, from James Joyce to Molière, his bicultural background has given him the opportunity to discover a wide variety of authors and works.
His path to the Librairie Camille Sourget was far from linear. After graduating in computer science in 2020, William followed other paths: he pursued a Master’s in English literature at the Sorbonne, spent three years in Washington D.C. as a commercial proposal writer, and completed a one-year mission with an NGO in Phnom Penh. Throughout his journey, however, he could always be found with a book in hand.
Returning to Paris in 2025, he joined the Librairie Camille Sourget, where he now puts his expertise to use in valuing and promoting rare books.
William particularly appreciates atlases and early 20th-century literature books.
Passionate and curious, William will be pleased to welcome you to the bookstore, in both French and English, to understand your expectations and help you discover the multitude of treasures that fill the shelves.
